A casual gathering between eight undergraduate students of UTokyo and alumni in New York was held at 6:00 p.m. of Wednesday, August 17 in the UTokyo NY Office.
The meeting was part of UTokyo’s Overseas Hands-on Activity Programs “International Exchange and Research Experience Activities near New York and Salt Lake City, U.S.”, which was organized by Professor Hiroyuki Sagawa (Institute for Cosmic Ray Research).
After a brief self-introduction by the students, the alumni present introduced their backgrounds using slides. Afterwards, the attendees broke into small groups for a lively questions-and-answers session.
The students heard from the alumni about their reasons for coming to the U.S., their activities and life in the U.S., and the differences between Japan and the U.S. This was a very meaningful time for them to think about their future university activities and future research and work.
