"Experience Excellence at UTokyo in the Post-Corona Age--A Discussion from UTokyoNY" was held at the UTokyoNY office in a hybrid-format for overseas students and their families interested in the University of Tokyo.
The first part, moderated by Professor Yujin Yaguchi (Deputy Director of Division for Global Campus Initiatives), comprised an overview of the university, followed by a discussion among UTokyo graduates based in the US and an American student currently enrolled in a Master's program at UTokyo. This part was live- streamed worldwide from UTokyoNY.
In the second part, online individual sessions were offered by faculty and staff of the PEAK Undergraduate Admissions Office, School of Science, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and the International Exchange Group. Additionally, Friends of UTokyo, Inc., provided an information session about its FUTI Scholarship.
Those who attended the event in person at the UTokyoNY were able to interact with the UTokyo faculty and graduates after the first part, including asking various questions. The online individual sessions served as a good opportunity for students from all over the world to gain information about the admission systems of each graduate school as well as English-medium programs of the university directly from UTokyo faculty and staff.
The university hopes to have similar events in the UTokyoNY in the future to continue promoting the value of studying at the University of Tokyo.
